Genesis Africa Books will always endeavor to protect your (“user”) personal information as given by you when you enter into a contractual arrangement with us or when you use this website using our best cyber-security efforts.

GAB commits that it will never share, sell, rent, or otherwise divulge your personal data to anybody. We make this commitment with the shared knowledge and understanding of those who visit our site that in our time, no website is hacking proof. Accordingly, GAB will not accept responsibility for any loss/theft of data, personal information, email ID, password, etc. or any subsequent losses arising from loss or hack of data. Our online visitors and clients are encouraged to use strong passwords, especially ensure that the passwords you use for your engagement with us is different from the passwords used for your credit card, bank, email ID, etc.

DATA COLLECTION

Our online book clients, authors, editors and other users can browse and our website without providing any personal information. Sharing your personal information, including uploading bio-data, telephone number, email ID, etc. is both optional and voluntary. Other visitors to our site cannot see users’ personal information, unless such information publicly available as part of our publishing/promotional activities or approved by you, our client, or as required by law. We use your information to:

• Service the information needs of our collaborating authors as they work towards publishing their books;
• Enable GAB to stay connected to you by sending you service email notifications or promos about our new publications;
• Allow GAB to manage your account and customize the service we provide to you and other users through our online commercial engagements; and
• Provide your personal details to third parties offering combined services with GAB, enabling you to share your information and communicate with other users as well as meet legal requirements on sharing of personal data.

USERS’ RIGHTS

As a USER on our platform, you are free to choose what information to share with other users of our site and you enjoy the freedom to change your personal information, except your login e-mail address, by correcting, updating or deleting same, in whole or in part,  right on your user panel, or by sending us an email to effect changes for you.

We cherish all users who hold accounts with us and welcome more all the time. However, should you elect to end our relationship and wish to close your account, just drop us an email and we shall effect your wish in a timely manner.

 OPEN ACCESS     

 GAB publishes books for the benefit of our authors and readers. We see ourselves as the bridge between content creators and consumers. Hence, immediately a book is published, it becomes public knowledge. As a result, the identity and coordinates of the author are published on our website and are available to users, though it is prohibited for these be commercially exploited

EMAIL POLICY

GAB delights in connecting with its users and for users have indicated a readiness to receive email/newsletter services using the personal information for, the publisher may contact such members with information that may be of interest to them. A registered member may, of course, opt to stop receiving such notifications by sending our Customer Service an email to that effect or by unsubscribing through the ‘Unsubscribe’ button in our promotional emails.

LEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES

We reserve the right to disclose members’ personal information if required to do so by law, or in the belief that such action is logically necessary to comply with legal process, respond to claims, or protect the rights, property or safety of GAB employees or members.
